Medicaid Non-Emergency Transportation (NET) Services

Medicaid NET services are provided for eligible Medicaid recipients.

How do I receive Medicaid NET services?

To receive services, you must have a valid Medicaid number and have no other means of transportation available, including family or friends. To apply, call GPTMS at 727-545-2100. You will be asked to provide your Medicaid number for verification of eligibility and other personal information, including whether you have access to a vehicle and the name and address of the medical provider you need transportation to. Medicaid eligibility must be verified each month.

What kinds of trips are eligible?

Transportation will be provided for trips to Medicaid-compensable services.

What type of transportation is available?

If you live within 3/4 of a mile from a bus route you will be required to use the bus service for your Medicaid appointments. You may request a bus pass assessment form to be completed if you live within 3/4 of a mile of a bus route and believe that you are not able to use the bus. Please mail the completed, signed for to GPTMS at:

GPTMS
13825 ICOT Blvd., Suite 613
Clearwater, FL 33760

GMPTS staff will review the completed form and will determine if you are unable to ride the bus and need taxi cab or wheelchair transportation.

For trips outside 3/4 of a mile from the bus routes, taxi cab or wheelchair accessible transportation will be provided.

How much do the transportation services cost?

For the bus pass program, a bus pass will be provided at no charge.

A 5-day, 10-day, or 31-day bus pass will be provided depending on how many Medicaid appointments you have for the month.

5 Day Bus Pass - Good for 31 days
The 5 Day Bus Pass will be good for 5 days of unlimited rides on PSTA buses from the time it is first used for the next 30 days. You will not have to use the pass 5 days in a row. You can use it for 5 days of your choice.

10 Day Bus Pass - Good for 31 days
The 10 Day Bus Pass will be good for 10 days of unlimited rides on PSTA buses from the time it is first used for the next 30 days. You will not have to use the pass 10 days in a row. You can use it for 10 days of your choice.

The pass you receive will be based on the number of Medicaid trips you have. It is important that you call us at (727) 545-2100 each month, preferably by the 15th of each month. You will need to tell us all the doctor's appointments you will have in the upcoming month. You will need each doctor's name, address and phone number and the date of each appointment.

You can pick up your bus pass at a PSTA bus terminal after the 4th of each month. You will need to show a government issued photo ID when you pick up your pass at one of these places:
